During your stay look out for historic buildings dating back to the 13th century, cobbled streets and panoramic views that you really can’t miss thanks to Winchelsea’s hilltop location. The heart of Winchelsea is the 13th century church. The town is known as being the smallest in the country, with panoramic views in all directions. When you book with us you should expect a quiet and tranquil stay whilst being in the centre of a Town. Winchelsea also has a lovely pub & local shop.

The town boasts a variety of walking trails to allow you to explore the best that 1066 county has to offer, including the grace of old castles, ancient walls and other remnants of history. Farmland and idyllic countryside views give way to a beautiful pebble beach, so flat you can see for miles. Sandy Retreat is a gorgeous 2 bedroom, pet friendly house, situated a stone’s throw from Cambers sand dunes and amazing beach. Beautifully decorated with a luxurious and spacious feel to this home, will ensure you have a relaxing and comfortable stay. On the top floor, the master bedroom with its own en-suite, has a small balcony, where you can relax with your morning brew and take in the beautiful surroundings. Downstairs, the living space opens out onto another balcony, which is perfect for alfresco dining, or just to sit and take a break from the stresses of life. On the same floor you will find the second bedroom, comprising of a bunk bed with a double bottom bunk bed. There is also a den which boasts seating, TV and Xbox and is a great space for your guests to enjoy some games and TV entertainment. A spacious and modern kitchen on the ground floor opens out to a patio and communal grass area; perfect for your kids to run around and a great space to have a BBQ in the summer months.
The beach is what Camber is all about offering 2.5 miles of sandy beach and dunes. The area has plenty of water sports available from kite surfing to sailing. Bikes can easily be hired and there are cycle routes and walking paths literally from outside the house to Rye and beyond. Two great restaurants, The Owl and the Gallivant are just a few minutes’ walk from the house. There are also local shops in Camber where you can get any last-minute groceries or Rye (nearby) has a large supermarket, fishmongers, bakers and a good butchers and deli.
